About this place
FraiseIII’s Strawberry Shortcake Parfait reimagines strawberry shortcake in a glass, making it a natural place to start. Layers include Hokkaido cream, vanilla ice cream, Japanese strawberries, house-made sponge, custard and strawberry purée, finished with plum and shiso-jelly accents. One diner who tried it described the generous cream as fluffy and light, with the feel of eating shortcake; the shiso jelly also stood out as a refreshing note that worked well with the cream. The bright strawberry-and-cream combination gradually gives way to plum and shiso flavours, adding a change of character as you work through the glass.
For cake, consider Fraise’s Fluffy, Melting Chiffon Cake, available with strawberry or cookie. The menu describes a chiffon made with egg whites and 3 kinds of oil, served with softly whipped cream. A diner who tried the cookie version enjoyed the moist cake, the cookie’s texture and the generous cream, which did not feel heavy. To drink, hot Earl Grey pairs well with the parfait or cream, while a strawberry latte or strawberry soda echoes the colour of the fruit.
FraiseIII is on the 3 floor of a building in Sangenjaya. You can dine in and make a reservation. It suits a café break or a late-evening dessert, with a parfait accompanied by tea or another drink.
